Alexa Together is gone. What replaces it?
Alexa Together bundled several unrelated things into one subscription, which is why no single product replaces it. Split it into its parts and the question becomes answerable.
The short answer
Nothing replaces Alexa Together as a bundle. The emergency calling survives as Alexa Emergency Assist. The activity feed has no successor from Amazon. If your parent has Ring cameras, that half is now better served by apps in the Ring App Store, which read camera clips rather than smart-speaker usage.
What Alexa Together actually did
Three products in a trench coat. Hands-free emergency calling from an Echo. A remote assist feature for managing a parent’s Alexa settings. And an activity feed showing they had interacted with their devices, asked about the weather, put the radio on.
It launched in December 2021 at $19.99 a month1, and Amazon retired it in 2025. That date comes from secondary reporting rather than a page we could load from Amazon directly, so treat it as approximate and check their help page for current status2.
The third piece is the one families miss. It was also always the weakest, because it inferred wellbeing from smart-speaker usage. A quiet morning could mean a bad night, or it could mean nobody felt like the radio.

If your parent already has Ring cameras
This is the case where the retirement turns out to be an upgrade.
Ring opened an App Store in March 20263, letting third-party apps read the clips a Ring camera already records. Several of them aim at exactly the gap Alexa Together left. Remy is ours. Why this beats the original feature: a camera in the living room observes whether somebody got up, moved around and ate something. An Echo observes whether somebody talked to an Echo. The first tells you about the person. The second tells you about a habit that may have nothing to do with how they are.
Remy reads those clips and surfaces possible fall-risk events, hazards and unusual inactivity, with a short daily summary and changes in routine across weeks. Faces are blurred before anything is analysed. It flags things for you to review, it is not a medical device, and it does not contact emergency services. Which is exactly why the emergency-calling piece is worth keeping separately.
Choosing between the options
Work out which of the three original pieces you actually used. Families rarely used all three.
If it was emergency calling, keep Alexa Emergency Assist or move to a monitored pendant, and stop there. Nothing camera-based substitutes for a monitoring centre. If it was the activity feed, a camera app is a genuine improvement on what you had. If what you miss is the feeling that one subscription had it covered, you need two things now, and it is better to accept that than to keep looking for a product that does not exist.
